Volunteers for Friendly Visiting Program with the Community Agency For Senior Citizens

I would like to introduce our Friendly Visiting Program, a meaningful volunteer opportunity that connects compassionate volunteers with older adults who may be experiencing social isolation or loneliness.

Through regular visits or conversations via telephone, student volunteers have the opportunity to build genuine relationships, provide companionship, and make a lasting positive impact in the lives of older adults. In return, students gain valuable experience in communication, empathy, community engagement, and relationship-building skills that are beneficial across a wide range of academic and professional fields, including social work, psychology, nursing, healthcare, education, and public service.

We would greatly appreciate the opportunity to share this volunteer opportunity with your students through your career services office, volunteer portal, student newsletter, or other communication channels. We would also be happy to provide a flyer, participate in volunteer or career fairs, or speak with interested students about the program.

Here are the qualifications to become an FVP volunteer:

• Screening requirements: Criminal background check, reference check, interview, and basic training
• Minimum age: 18 years old
• Time commitment: At least one hour per week for a minimum of six months
